Eco Lab.Oratory
Residency at Tehidy Country Park
(October 2025 - December 2025)
The term Lab.Oratory combines the concept of a site of experimentation, trial and error, with the notion of a site that is sacred or considered a “thin place” (where the veils between worlds are thinner). The term ‘orator’ can also be taken to mean storyteller or mythmaker, and even carries with it a sense of a performative happening. In the face of the ecological crisis, exploring ways to tell stories in and with the environment, to consider the role of myth and ritual in navigating the poly crisis and to imagine new possibilities becomes critical.
This page documents the events and happenings that took place across the course of three months in and around Kennels Cottage in the heart of Tehidy Woods to collaboratively discover what it might mean to host, to become, to uncover, to imagine, to speculate into being an Eco Lab.Oratory.
With huge thanks to Tehidy Country Park, Cornwall Council, Krowji Ltd., and Creative Kernow.

Events
Across the three months, various workshops, open studios, residentials, and pop-up events/drop-ins happened on site. All of the events were designed to facilitate engagement with Tehidy woods and broader themes of environmental and ecological consciousness.
Cornish Inks, for which I am co-founder, also spent time on-site foraging for our first collection of inks. This resulted in a whole range of art materials being created from the site.
Below you can see a selection of documentation from the three months.
