In Contact with Trees (Workshop I)
Workshop Date and Time:
October 11th 10.30am - 3.30pm
Workshop Outline:
This eco-art workshop focuses on relationship between deforestation and climate change, addressing the importance of preserving and maintaining trees (particularly ancient and deciduous).
Activities:
Reflective walk around the grounds of the eco-park interacting with the trees. This walk will include:
grounding mediation to support wellbeing in the face of climate grief, anxiety and rage
foraging and gathering materials to print with later in the workshop
practices of more-than-human storytelling as a means of perspective taking and empathy building
Discussion as a group around our feelings about climate change, and how we build strategies for wellbeing, adaptation, resilience and agency.
Printing with beautiful home-made, plant-based inks on rice and rag papers, and an introduction to my own contact printing method.

Accessibility:
There is parking available on site. The room is ground floor with large doors. Sessions will involve a small amount of ambling around the site. Please contact me directly with any accessibility needs.
Refreshments:
Break-times will be built in to the schedule, including a lunch break.
Lunch is NOTprovided. Please bring your own lunch or there is a canteen on site. https://www.mpecopark.co.uk/canteen/
Tea and coffee making facilities are provided. A vegan/vegetarian snack will be available at break times.
Materials:
All materials are provided (though you are welcome to bring your own foraged materials).
Please bring a clean jar to take home any inks you wish to take home.
