Since 2022 I have been producing all my own water-based, screen-printing, and relief printing inks from botanicals and earth pigments. These inks form the basis of the materials I use in my performances and my prints. This process involves foraging for botanical and earth pigments in the landscape, as well as growing dye plants. Through a process of filtration and reduction, I can create colour pastes which can then be suspended in printmaking mediums. I also hand-make all my own printmaking mediums from natural materials. I run workshops on how to use these materials and make these inks. You can see photographs from this process and in use with workshop participants below*.
