The Last Breath Society

“A place where mortals decay together” (Martin O’Brien, 2024)

This was a participatory live art project about living and dying queerly run by Martin O’Brien, and produced by Future Ritual in conjunction with Queen Mary’s University in London. You can find out more about the project here: https://futureritual.co.uk/The-Last-Breath-Society-2023

As a chronically ill, disabled and queer artist, having just faced a major personal loss, I joined the group to explore these themes and connect them with my ongoing research into climate grief.

For me this culminated in the work ‘Go Dig My Grave’, a variation on my Hiraeth series.
